New Study Reveals That Drinking Water Cures Dehydration
The link below takes you to a blog discussing the merits of a new study that
discovered that drinking water cures dehydration. Yes, you read that
correctly. You can’t see the title on the linked page because of a
statement covering it up but the writer is commenting on this mindless
study.
I would expect that an intelligent writer would think a study like this is
unnecessary. However, there is one statement in the article that bothers
me: “Essentially, mothers are practicing medicine without a license by
giving water, an unapproved “supplement,” to their young children whenever
they get dehydrated from diarrhea.”
Even if it is not completely true, unfortunately the statement would
technically be interpreted as true by the FDA. And if that statement is
true then it could be said that every person in the country is guilty of
practicing medicine without a license by eating food and water, both
unapproved “supplements,” to cure the possibility of starvation and death.
When the day comes that we need government permission to put anything in our
mouth, maybe then we will realize that government has gotten too big and is
no longer holding to constitutional principles. Until then many of us cheer
on a bigger, more powerful government and vote for those who want it.
Boy we have come a long way from a government of the people, by the people,
and for the people.
